Synopsis
Es el año 1890, jinetes de todo el mundo van a Estados Unidos para participar en la gran carrera Steel Ball Run.
Una carrera que atraviesa desde San Diego hasta la ciudad de Nueva York con un premio de 50 millones de dólares.
Johnny Joestar, un ex jinete de carreras que cayó de la gloria después de que en un tiroteo una bala lo alcanzó y lo paralizó de la cintura para abajo, decide entrar en la carrera después de conocer al misterioso Gyro Zeppeli, que utiliza dos bolas de acero como armas y que su extraño poder hizo que las piernas de Johnny se movieran por primera vez en años.
Este insiste en seguir a Gyro para descubrir el poder de las bolas de acero; en su viaje por la carrera, las cosas se complican al revelarse que esta es una tapadera del presidente para llegar a un ""objetivo"" que le dará poder a Estados Unidos y su dominancia en el mundo.
Johnny y Gyro tendrán que llegar a ese ""objetivo"" antes que el presidente, enfrentándose contra él y a sus asesinos, junto a otros competidores que buscan lo mismo que ellos.
